Salad...
The Rebel Alliance puts together a new Special Operations mission
group. It's code name is Delta Omega Alpha 15. They have been given the
duty to work along side the Rebel resistance group based in the Fakir Sector in
the Outer-Rim. They have with them on the ship their briefing and liaison
officer, Major Faiser. He briefs them on the Fakir sector, the Rebel Alliances
goals for the sector, and the Imperial forces stationed there. As he concludes
their briefing, the ship is ripped out of hyper space.
Captain Pep runs to
the cockpit and does an immediate sensor sweep which reveals that they were
pulled out by an Imperial Interdictor. It also picks up a large Imperial
force devastating a rag-tag bunch of freighters and starfighters. He
doesn't get the chance to tell if they are pirates, smugglers, or rebels,
because the ship immediately takes fire from the Interdictor. Their ship is
blasted by several shots of turbo laser fire and is in bad shape. Pep directs
the ship towards a nearby planet that seems habitable.
The Planet they landed
on is called Silan IV and resides in the Silan system. It's an out of the way
system with not much in it other than Silan IV. The Imperials haven't really
bothered with the place because the planet and it's natives are fairly hostile.
The Natives of Silan IV have mainly kept to themselves barely venturing out,
even into their own system.
Silan IV consists of one large jungle that covers
the planet. Near the Equator is the only city on the planet. The Jungle around
the city is kept back by a half mile ring of concrete on the ground to keep the
plants from growing. The plant life itself is considered dangerous, with many of the
plants having limited intelligence and mobility for the purpose of
hunting/feeding. The few species of animal life that have managed to evolve here
are also quite dangerous due to the environment they evolved in.
The Silans
themselves, the only native race on the planet, are near humans with a tribal
social structure, but have been genetically altered by themselves over the
centuries to withstand the high oxygen environment and the rather dangerous
flora and fauna.
The rebel ship manages to set down in the middle of the
jungle, about 50 miles away from where they picked up the nearest city on
sensors. Camara and Janus take a speeder bike out to go towards the city they
found on sensors before landing, to get parts for the ship. Pep, Amanda, and
Gentle take stock of things on the ship and begin to clean up and make repairs.
They check on the Major who had been knocked out when the ship was pulled from
hyperspace and was taken to the medbay. When they enter the med bay they find
that it was one of the areas hit by the turbo fire. The Major has the severed
arm of a med droid implanted in his chest, he's obviously dead.
Gentle goes
outside to setup a perimeter fence and sensors and notices several small simian
like animals with fur that appear to shift colors. The simains appear to be
roughly 30-50 pounds. What he doesn't notice is several more behind him, making their
way up the ship's ramp. They begin to hunt around the inside of the ship and
come upon Amanda, who is alone in the engine room. Seeing that she is by
herself, they attack. Amanda notices a movement out of the corner of her eye,
and turns pulling her blaster out and fries three of them quickly.
The other
three jump on her and begin to claw and bite her. Their bites pass a
toxin to her that makes her begin to hallucinate and she begins to fire wildly
around the room until one of the creatures smacks the blaster out of her hand.
Pep shows up and knocks them off of Amanda and blasts them before they can get
up again. Amanda, who isn't thinking or seeing right, pops small, thin, metal
razor claws out of her fingers and takes a swipe at Pep.
Pep sets his
blaster to stun and shoots her twice for good measure. he then carries her to the
med bay and puts her on a sedative drip to keep her out for the moment.
Meanwhile Janus and Camara battle there way through the carnivorous plants and
make it to the city. Janus is immediately recognized for what he is, but is
called a Jaedi instead of Jedi. They are taken before the Chief Matron and are
able to negotiate the purchase of the parts they needed.
Camara and Janus get
back in time to help Pep and Gentle fight off a bunch of choke vines that were ensnaring the ship. Camara manages
to repair the ship, while Janus uses the force to help heal Amanda and
detoxifies her system. Unfortunately, due to her unique make up and years of
alcoholic conditioning, she doesn't handle being stone cold sober well. After downing
some alcohol, she feels better. And they manage to take off and get
into orbit to continue their way to the Fakir sector and meet up with the rebel
group that they've been assigned to.
